Here at Autism Wellbeing we recognise that family life can be complex
and that families often have to overcome barriers in order to access the
information and support services that they need. For this reason, we
work closely with families, staying alongside them on their journey as
equals and recognising that parents are the experts when it comes to
their children. We like to work collaboratively with families and to
co-produce our services in partnership with them.
Our work lies primarily in providing Responsive Communication support to autistic individuals and their families. To complement this core activity, we are developing a range of psychological and wellbeing services for individuals and their families. We know from our experience of working with families that not only the autistic individual but also their families can benefit from psychological and wellbeing support.
Autism Wellbeing are currently organising a series of stakeholder events across south and west Wales in order to develop services co-productively with autistic individuals, their families and carers and the professionals who support them. If you are interested in attending a stakeholder meeting, please contact rorie@autismwellbeing.org.uk or on 07393 664048.
